  • House of Fraser Oxford Street to host this year's Christmas Lights switch-on

Wall to Wall Radio Communications' top client House of Fraser say they are thrilled to be hosting the "switch-on" of the Marmite Oxford Street Lights. As one of London's most popular events in the run-up to Christmas, this is guaranteed to be a fantastic occasion and National Account Manager Carolyn Reeve and the rest of "Team Wall to Wall" are extremely proud to be associated with this event. As the approved supplier to House of Fraser, their Oxford Street site currently has a bespoke communications system to enable all departments to communicate within the store. Extra lightweight covert radios have been hired in for this event to ensure the safety of customers and celebrities.

Taking centre stage is Robbie Williams, the former Take That star, who has sold over 60 million solo albums worldwide and in addition to performing some of his hit singles, Robbie will treat shoppers to a live performance of his single, "Candy" - a Christmas #1 contender taken from his new album 'Take the Crown' - released on 5th November, the same day as the Christmas Lights Switch-on.

The Marmite Oxford Street Christmas Lights, which for the first time gives people the chance to appear within the mile long interactive display, will kick start the festive season in style with tens of thousands gathering on Oxford Street for the switch-on of the 300,000 bulbs of light that are hoisted above the street, signalling the start of Christmas in London's West End.

This year's switch-on will be a star-studded affair with pop sensation Leona Lewis, and four-piece boy band Lawson, supporting the headline act and treating the crowds outside premium British department store House of Fraser and presented by official radio partner Heart 106.2. The proceedings will kick off at 5pm, hosted by Heart presenters Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton to a variety of hits to get the celebrations under way. The catwalk stage, accompanied by two viewing screens will be hosted.

  • Light Up a Life Appeal - Give back to the Community

During the course of the year, Wall to Wall Communications has held dress down Fridays in support of our chosen charity - St. Raphael’s Hospice. Barbara Calvert the CEO explained that the chosen charity offered physical and emotional support to family and friends of the patients and this is sometimes overlooked.

We are proud to announce that the sum we raised so far this year totals £783.05 and that all Wall to Wall Comms' staff have demonstrated great enthusiasm with themed days. Many of our clients have also taken part, if their visit coincided with one of these days.
Barbara explained "we had builders from the Olympic construction site coming into the office wearing Tu Tu’s, fitness centre staff wearing hard hats and steel toe caps, and a nurse swapping her demure uniform for the lifesavers costume!!!"

Our latest push for more funds for St. Raphael's is to ask all our clients and staff alike to contribute to "Light up a Life". More details can be found on Light Up a Life Appeal.
